Wacom tablet drawing on Adobe Photoshop, edited on Adobe After Effects

“Flashing Lights” by Kanye West has been one of my favorite songs since as long as I can remember. It is my go-to every-time I need some pick-me-up hype music for going out, taking an exam, or just getting the day started. Although its lyrics may be superficial, what it represents is aspirational. Indeed, I, too, only want to “believe in shoes and cars.”
I first created all the necessary images in Photoshop with my Wacom Tablet, and then imported them into After Effects so that the movement of certain images in my music video can coincide with the beat of the music. This creates a satisfying effect where the visuals and audio echo one another, depicting a late-night drive through the city, which West alluded to in the song.
