Drawing on adobe photoshop and animation with Adobe After Effects and Character Animator

As a lifelong fan of Rihanna’s career and talent, I was determined to create an alternate music video of her song, “pon de replay.” I first studied every nook and cranny of her in my reference photo selected from her self-titled book, then I recreated the photo in the form of a photo-realistic portrait on Photoshop. When that is done, I applied a polka dot pattern on my portrait to experiment with creating decorative art in Photoshop.

To further hone in my animation skills by experimenting with Adobe character animator, I decided to experiment with frame-by-frame animation on photoshop and created an animation of her winking, as she famously did not know how to wink.
With character animation, I found images of Rihanna from the internet in all angles, cropped out her features, and applied it to character animator so that it will sing along with the music. Although the end product looked a little eerie, I am proud of my artwork and how I had learned to use character animator on my own.
